Job Summary

The Director of Outreach is a key leadership position at The Spring of Tampa Bay, a leading organization in the community, responsible for overseeing and managing participant services in compliance with organizational policies and procedures, contracts, and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement outreach programs, including community engagement initiatives, to promote organizational services and support.
  • Directly supervise a team of outreach professionals, providing guidance and oversight to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Collaborate with other Spring programs and managers to reduce barriers for participants and ensure services are accessible.
  • Manage relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and funders to secure support and resources for outreach programs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote organizational services and support, including marketing and outreach efforts.
  • Lead the Outreach Team with competence, providing coaching and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee internship programs with universities in the community, supervising student interns and providing guidance on project development.
  • Assist with staff development and staff trainings, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), behavioral or social science supplemented by five (5) years experience in human service administration preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree may be considered with extensive applicable experience. Program management and supervisory experience required.
  • Valid Florida driver's license, two years driving experience, acceptable Motor Vehicle Report, active automobile insurance, and dependable transportation required.
  • Requires 24-hour FCADV/DCF Core Competency training and additional 6 hours to qualify for Privilege status.
  • Requires ongoing 16-hours of FCADV/DCF related training after the first year.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Level II background check.
Physical Demands

The responsibilities of this position require that the employee be able to talk and hear. The employee usually is required to walk, stand, sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to ten pounds.

Work Environment

The work environment is that of an office atmosphere or classroom atmosphere and normally has a moderate noise level.

Additional Remarks
  • FBI background screen, drug screen, and MVR screen required.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license, have an acceptable MVR. Must have dependable transportation in order to move between facilities and agencies.
  • Must have ability to lead with confidence and minimal supervision.
  • Requires good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must have an understanding of domestic violence.
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential material, flexibility, and tolerance for others is required.
  • High ethical and professional standards, sound judgment, and ability to function independently are required.
  • Must be able to work harmoniously with participants, volunteers, staff, and public.
