Position Overview: The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of retail activities, overseeing the sales floor, processing areas, and donation centers. This position is responsible for managing retail operations in the absence of senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve inquiries and complaints effectively.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of retail staff regarding store policies and procedures.
  • Maintain merchandise presentation on the sales floor to enhance customer experience.
  • Facilitate sales by organizing displays and strategically arranging products.
  • Process transactions accurately, including cash and credit payments, while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Open and prepare the store for operations in the absence of management.
  • Close the store, ensuring accurate cash reconciliation and securing the premises.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of daily operations, including sales reports and cash deposits.
  • Supervise the sales floor and processing areas to ensure accountability and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding operational progress and challenges.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss store performance and strategies.
  • Monitor customer behavior and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform the duties of retail associates as needed.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Uphold confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties: In collaboration with management, oversee retail staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal regulations. Responsibilities include employee training, work delegation, and maintaining cash accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with retail operations and customer service standards.
  • Basic math and cash management skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse individuals.

Physical Requirements: The role requires regular use of hands and arms, with the ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Work is primarily conducted indoors in a retail environment with frequent public interaction.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have at least two years of retail experience or a combination of education and experience. A successful background check and drug test are required.
