Overview:

As a Category Management Specialist at Pacific Seafood, you will play a pivotal role in supporting transaction activities alongside Category Managers. Your efficiency and effectiveness will be crucial in collaborating with our distribution centers to ensure exceptional customer service and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing inventory sourcing for designated programs.
  • Support Category Managers in the formulation and execution of strategic sourcing and procurement methodologies.
  • Strive for optimal service costs while maintaining high quality and service standards, adhering to delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with Category Managers to develop pricing forecasts based on key market indicators.
  • Provide daily management to ensure product availability and performance metrics are met.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of primary material suppliers and their cost structures.
  • Assist in vendor negotiations for the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Contribute to the identification of new supply sources when existing vendors fall short.
  • Promote and enforce best safety practices.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and uphold professionalism in all business dealings.
  • Monitor costs and project timelines effectively.
  • Assist Category Managers in directing contract stipulations and managing vendor agreements to track financial and renewal terms.
  • Communicate daily updates on market conditions, incoming products, current inventory levels, and potential shortages.
  • Analyze inventory movement, historical data, and product supply to determine needs and make recommendations for orders.
  • Report discrepancies along with corrective measures to the sales management team periodically.
  • Utilize order and pricing resources effectively.
  • Support initiatives for daily promotions and value-added items.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:

Required:

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 annually, based on experience.
