Kaiser Permanente is looking for a skilled CT Imaging Specialist to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

This role involves operating CT scanners and other imaging equipment to generate high-quality diagnostic images under direct supervision. The CT Imaging Specialist will perform a variety of tasks that promote teamwork and align with the mission and philosophy of Kaiser Permanente.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental protocols and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members, providing clear explanations of procedures and addressing any questions.
  • Manage clerical duties, including filing and utilizing PACS systems for image management.
  • Administer contrast media as per established guidelines and assist in screening patients for any contraindications.
  • Engage in quality assurance activities and troubleshoot imaging equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned workspace and restock supplies as needed.
  • Participate in on-call or standby schedules and assist with patient transport when required.
QualificationsExperience
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a CT technologist within the last two years, or a minimum of six (6) months in an acute hospital setting within the past year.
Education
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Oregon Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License or Washington Registered Radiologic Technologist License is required at hire.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate in Computed Tomography is required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire.
Additional Requirements
  • Proof of continuing education and mandatory annual infection control training.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and administration.
  • Ability to perform all functions independently and competently.
  • IV Certification must be obtained annually.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with helical and/or multi-detector CT technology.
  • Attendance at relevant CT and cross-sectional anatomy courses.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Science or a related field is preferred.
