Financial Operations Manager

Position Overview:

The Financial Operations Manager will be tasked with supervising all financial and accounting functions within the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the precision and reliability of financial reporting, managing the financial operations of the company, as well as overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and adherence to regulatory standards. The Financial Operations Manager will significantly influence the financial strategy of the organization, aiding in the accomplishment of business goals, and ensuring robust internal controls in a dynamic food processing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Direct the annual budgeting process, encompassing preparation, consolidation, and analysis of departmental budgets.
  • Develop and sustain financial forecasts, including cash flow projections, and adjust them as necessary.
  • Deliver financial insights to facilitate decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Cost Management:
  • Oversee and regulate costs throughout the organization, particularly in production, raw materials, and labor.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify and execute cost-reduction strategies.
  • Ensure precise product costing and support pricing strategies.
  • Cash Management:
  • Manage cash flow operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury activities.
  • Ensure optimal capital utilization, manage banking relationships, and enhance working capital efficiency.
  • Tax Reporting & Compliance:
  • Supervise and guarantee timely and accurate tax reporting, including federal, state, and local obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and remain informed about changes in tax legislation affecting the organization.
  • Software Transition:
  • Lead and oversee the transition of financial software systems, ensuring data integrity and minimal operational disruption.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure successful implementation and integration of new systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, with experience in financial modules and reporting tools.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities, including financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective leadership skills with the capacity to manage and inspire a team.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with all organizational levels.
