Position Overview:

This role is based onsite and is not a remote opportunity. The primary responsibility of the Optical Associate, Optician is to engage and retain customers by providing exceptional service, thereby enhancing customer loyalty and ensuring high levels of satisfaction among associates and doctors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive store profitability by cultivating a customer-centric culture and employing effective retail sales techniques, utilizing the Total Customer Experience Model.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with fellow Associates, Hosts, and Doctors.
  • Process ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and expertly fit and adjust lenses and frames, which includes:
    • Evaluating optical prescriptions alongside customers' visual needs.
    • Recommending appropriate lenses, coatings, and frames tailored to customer preferences.
    • Assisting customers in frame selection while aligning frames with optical measurements and prescriptions.
    • Conducting precise measurements including bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers using specialized tools.
  • Ensure quality assurance through accurate measurements, competitive pricing, and realistic delivery timelines.
  • Maximize Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities, focusing on:
    • Effective plan administration and local service.
    • Enhancements in average transaction values.
    • Locally initiated promotional plans.
  • Support the timely execution of approved marketing initiatives and programs.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with Hosts, measured through Patient Satisfaction Surveys.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Optical Manager and other team members.
Qualifications:

Typically requires the following skills or abilities:

  • If mandated by state regulations: Relevant state licensure or certification from a recognized optician association.
  • Proven sales ability and accountability for achieving sales targets.
  • Experience in a retail or customer service environment.
  • Strong communication skills to meet and exceed customer expectations while fostering positive relationships with associates, doctors, and hosts.
  • Attention to detail and success in store merchandising.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Familiarity with personal computers is preferred.
Compensation:

The compensation range for this position is outlined below. Salary ranges may vary across different markets. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This role may also include eligible bonuses and commissions as part of the overall compensation package.
