Responsibilities
These specialists focus on treating children facing developmental learning challenges and individuals across all age groups who have experienced the effects of traumatic brain injuries.

  • Design and implement patient sessions tailored to examination results and specific optometric objectives.
  • Facilitate therapy sessions that are impactful and yield positive outcomes.
  • Assign supplementary exercises that enhance the effectiveness of therapy sessions.
  • Conduct and evaluate perceptual testing assessments to ascertain the suitability of patients for Vision Therapy.
  • Ensure accurate documentation is maintained in compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Educate patients and their guardians on examination results, session progress, and expectations for homework.

Practice Maintenance
Maintain a clean and organized environment within therapy and testing areas, including managing copies and supplies for home exercises.

Assist optometrists with communication to parents, educational institutions, and other relevant parties following evaluations, including vision and learning assessments.

Professional Development
Engage in workshops aimed at raising awareness among patients, families, and professionals regarding the implications of functional vision issues on learning.

Stay current with certification requirements through ongoing education and training.

Collaboration
Maintain open communication with optometrists and other healthcare professionals regarding patient progress.

Scheduling Support
Assist in the coordination of therapy appointments, ensuring an efficient scheduling process.

Creative Care
Continuously strive for innovation and improvement to deliver exceptional care to patients.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Experience in the optical field is advantageous but not mandatory
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
