The Outreach Team is a leading national field organization dedicated to partnering with groups addressing critical societal challenges, from safeguarding human rights to combating climate change. Our effectiveness stems from our commitment to building diverse teams of skilled individuals, investing in our workforce, and ensuring a supportive work environment.

We are actively seeking Field Directors to spearhead a significant campaign aimed at safeguarding access to reproductive healthcare. This initiative involves engaging with residents to discuss the importance of reproductive rights. The current climate necessitates a robust defense of rights related to abortion, contraceptive services, paid family leave, and comprehensive pregnancy care. Our organization mobilizes members to advocate for these essential services and to eliminate barriers to reproductive freedom.

Field Directors will be responsible for recruiting, training, and overseeing a team of local canvassers tasked with educating the community about reproductive healthcare access. This role requires leading by example through active canvassing while also setting and communicating campaign objectives to the team. Field Directors will supervise canvassers and Team Leads, reporting directly to the Lead Director.

The Lead Campaign Director will oversee a team of two Deputy Directors and will play a crucial role in establishing an operational framework from the ground up. This position will report to the Project Director.

Immediate hiring is underway. The role is expected to continue for a defined period, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of 15-20 hourly staff collecting signatures in support of reproductive rights.
  • Establish performance goals and ensure accountability among team members.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to enhance team performance.
  • Identify and cultivate a leadership team within the canvassing staff.
  • Foster a diverse and respectful team culture that emphasizes equity and justice.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain the integrity of the campaign.
  • Engage in fieldwork several days a week to collect signatures and support team efforts.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all team members.
  • Develop strategic outreach plans to engage registered voters in designated areas.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including data reporting, record-keeping, payroll processing, and material distribution.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and manage a large team.
  • Willingness to lead from the front with active canvassing involvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to instill this quality in others.
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Deep commitment to community organizing and civic engagement.
  • Demonstrated track record of promoting equity and inclusion.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing paid canvassing operations or employees.
  • Familiarity with voter outreach tools.
  • Background in working with underserved or marginalized communities.
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Local knowledge and experience.

Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $1,200 to $1,400 per week, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, health insurance, and practical training opportunities. There may also be prospects for advancement and bonuses at the conclusion of the campaign.
