About The Outreach Team

The Outreach Team is a leading national field organization dedicated to partnering with groups addressing critical societal challenges, from safeguarding human rights to combating climate change. Our effectiveness stems from our commitment to hiring diverse, talented individuals and fostering a supportive work environment.

We are currently in search of Field Directors to spearhead a significant campaign aimed at ensuring access to reproductive healthcare through community engagement initiatives. The mission is to advocate for essential reproductive rights, including abortion access, contraceptive services, paid family leave, and comprehensive pregnancy care. As a non-profit advocacy organization, Reproductive Freedom for All mobilizes its members to champion these causes and work collaboratively to eliminate existing barriers to reproductive freedom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and oversee a team of local canvassers to engage with community members regarding reproductive rights.
  • Lead by example through active canvassing while providing training and support to team members.
  • Communicate both short-term and long-term objectives to staff, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • Manage canvassers and Team Leads, reporting directly to the Lead Director.
  • Oversee a team of Deputy Directors, contributing to the establishment of a scalable office structure.

Canvass Management Duties:

  • Supervise a team of 15-20 hourly staff focused on gathering signatures in support of reproductive rights.
  • Set measurable goals and hold team members accountable for their performance.
  • Provide ongoing training and motivation to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Identify and cultivate leadership within the team.
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive team culture that emphasizes respect and equity.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain the integrity of the campaign.
  • Engage in fieldwork several days a week to collect signatures and assist in training staff.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all team members.
  • Develop strategic outreach plans to effectively reach registered voters.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities, including data reporting, record-keeping, payroll processing, and material distribution.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and manage a large team.
  • Willingness to lead from the front and participate in canvassing activities regularly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to instill this quality in others.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Deep commitment to community organizing and promoting civic engagement.
  • Demonstrated track record of equity and inclusion.
  • Capacity to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing paid canvassing efforts or overseeing paid staff.
  • Familiarity with voter outreach tools.
  • Background in working with underserved or marginalized communities.
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Local knowledge and experience.

Compensation: The salary for this role ranges from $1,200 to $1,400 per week, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, health insurance, and hands-on training opportunities. There may also be potential for advancement and bonuses at the conclusion of the campaign.
