Role Summary

The BIM/VDC Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of electrical projects. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to produce accurate 2D and 3D electrical schematics, facilitating seamless integration with other trades, and adhering to project timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and review detailed 2D and 3D electrical drawings for field implementation and coordinate with subcontractors.
  • Engage in coordination meetings to address design conflicts while ensuring compliance with budgetary and regulatory standards.
  • Create shop drawings and detailed cross-sections for underground conduits and electrical systems to guide fabrication and installation teams.
  • Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify design specifications and follow up on responses.
  • Interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical plans, ensuring accurate communication with project management and engineering teams.
  • Travel to various project sites as necessary to oversee installation and coordination efforts.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a BIM-related position.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk, Revit, and Navisworks is essential.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM 360 Glue, and other collaboration software is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction processes and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of 3D coordination techniques.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Performance Expectations

  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure the accuracy and quality of drawings produced.

Work Environment

The role requires regular physical activity, including walking, standing, and using hands for various tasks. Employees may need to lift up to 30 pounds and will be exposed to typical construction site conditions.
