About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Director to join our team at Novolex. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operation, leadership, and management of our manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of operations supervisors, ensuring operational excellence and efficiency in production processes.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant performance, improve productivity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and high performance within the plant.
  • Talent Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and innovation in plant operations.
  • Strategic Partnership: Act as a strategic partner to the Plant Manager, providing insights, recommendations, and support in driving the plant's overall success.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, business administration, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Language: Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leadership and people management, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving common goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and drive operational improvements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic foresight and ability to think long-term, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities in the industry.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Operational Excellence: Demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence, cost reduction, and process optimization.
  • Safety and Quality: Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
