Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Nursing Staffing Coordinator. This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal staffing patterns and schedules for nursing personnel, including nurses and nursing assistants, in alignment with staffing requirements and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) and Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADNS) concerning scheduling and staffing across various units.
- Take full accountability for maintaining adequate nursing staff levels, which includes creating and distributing the nursing department schedule, managing call-outs, and processing vacation requests with the necessary approvals.
- Oversee the vacation calendar for nursing staff to ensure fair and efficient scheduling.
- Manage the approved Nursing Department staffing budget, including effective scheduling that adheres to overtime budget constraints.
- Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and issues faced by employees.
- Support the recruitment process for new Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.'s).
- Monitor and track professional nursing licenses and certifications as required.
- Prepare payroll change documentation for the Nursing Department.
- Provide coverage for the receptionist during breaks as necessary.
- Compile and submit hours worked reports for the Nursing Department and Administrator.
- Keep track of absenteeism and tardiness within the nursing department.
- Document nursing staff participation in incentive programs when applicable.
- Maintain an updated contact list for all nursing department personnel.
- Handle absence documentation resulting from call-outs and communicate appropriately with administrative leadership.
This position is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of the nursing department and ensuring high-quality care for our residents.
