Nursing Staffing Coordinator

Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is in search of a dedicated full-time Nursing Staffing Coordinator. This role operates under the guidance of the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) and is essential in effectively managing staffing patterns and schedules for nursing personnel and assistants, ensuring compliance with staffing regulations and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a communication bridge between the DNS and Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADNS) regarding unit scheduling and staffing.
  • Take full accountability for maintaining sufficient nursing staff levels, which includes creating and distributing the nursing department schedule, addressing call-outs, and processing vacation requests with ADNS approval.
  • Oversee the vacation calendar for nursing personnel.
  • Manage the approved Nursing Department staffing budget, ensuring alignment with overtime budget constraints.
  • Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies for nursing staff.
  • Support the recruitment process for new Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.'s).
  • Monitor and track professional nursing licenses and certifications as required.
  • Prepare payroll change documentation for the Nursing Department.
  • Provide coverage for the receptionist during breaks as necessary.
  • Compile hours worked reports for the Nursing Department and Administrator.
  • Keep records of absenteeism and tardiness within the nursing department.
  • Track nursing staff participation in incentive programs when applicable.
  • Maintain an updated list of contact information for all nursing department staff members.
  • Handle absence documentation resulting from call-outs and communicate appropriately with the Director of Administrative Services.

This position is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of nursing services and maintaining high standards of care within the facility.
