Role Focus
The primary focus of the Strategic Energy Solutions Manager is to initiate, cultivate, and finalize solar and storage projects, offering multi-technology solutions through our PowerFlex X energy management platform and patented EV charging solutions for large enterprises across North America. This role involves managing key client relationships through insightful solar consultations and dedicated customer service throughout the project origination and development phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture new and existing relationships with corporate leaders and energy/facility/property managers to explore and execute solar and storage projects.
  • Introduce our expanding EV charging and Energy Management Software solutions as integral components of the PowerFlex suite.
  • Generate new accounts and opportunities through various methods, including cold outreach, email campaigns, targeted marketing, networking, and participation in industry events.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to address significant issues related to financial, legal, energy, technical, and tax considerations of solar and storage projects.
  • Provide strategic guidance on project structuring, market insights, and consultation for portfolio projects.
  • Manage a diverse pipeline of projects through the sales cycle, ensuring consistent volume and balance across project types, markets, customer segments, and project sizes.
  • Monitor market trends and conditions by engaging with industry policy groups and maintaining relationships with policy stakeholders.
  • Lead responses to RFPs in close coordination with internal support teams.
  • Work alongside project development, financing, and legal teams to negotiate and finalize project contracts.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external networks with strategic channel partners.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that delivers exceptional service and results for clients.
  • Document all sales activities in Salesforce.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the solar or renewable energy sector is required.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Business Development and/or Sales.
  • Previous experience in structuring high-value project transactions and portfolio transactions is essential.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven track record in commercial solar project sales with Fortune 500 companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect and build a robust solar and storage project pipeline.
  • Experience in negotiating and executing complex third-party owned project transactions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project and structured finance.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant solar policies, trends, utility incentives, and state incentives.
  • Ability to structure complex multi-site, multi-market project portfolios.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce, including report and dashboard creation.
  • Capacity to prioritize high-value tasks and maintain project momentum.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams while effectively communicating sales objectives and strategies.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently when necessary.
  • Highly energetic and results-oriented, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Possesses executive presence and strong communication and presentation skills.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is competitive and includes eligibility for comprehensive health and welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off. The total compensation may also encompass an annual performance bonus or other incentive compensation as applicable. PowerFlex carefully considers candidates' qualifications, experiences, and education in relation to the position.

Working Conditions
This role may require travel for client visits, conferences, and meetings as necessary. The position primarily involves an office environment, with occasional field and client visits that necessitate standing, walking, and documenting existing conditions. Regular operation of a computer and other office equipment is expected.
