Our mission is to enhance the capabilities of energy retailers by providing advanced data applications that streamline pricing, forecasting, and portfolio management. Our product team is divided into two key units: the Platform Team, which develops a powerful and adaptable data processing framework, and the Applications Team, where we blend creativity with technology to create specialized algorithms and applications tailored for energy data. We pride ourselves on being a center of innovation where ideas shape the future of the energy sector.

Your Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable Energy Domain Subject Matter Expert (SME) to become an integral part of our product team. The SME will be essential in customizing our offerings for energy retailers in the USA, particularly focusing on deregulated markets. This position requires extensive collaboration with various teams, providing expert insights into the local energy landscape, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise to ensure our products are effectively aligned with regional demands and deliver optimal value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess a thorough understanding of energy retailer operations in areas such as pricing strategies, forecasting methods, and portfolio management.
  • Keep abreast of regional energy developments, policy shifts, and emerging technologies to guide product innovation and strategy.
Product Customization:
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to adapt Gorilla's offerings for the US market.
  • Ensure that the product complies with local requirements and addresses the unique challenges faced by regional energy retailers.
  • Conduct product testing and gather feedback to confirm that specialized features function correctly and align with industry best practices.
Training and Support:
  • Deliver training and support to internal teams and external partners regarding local energy market dynamics and product features.
  • Create documentation and resources to facilitate the regional adoption of our solutions.
Market Analysis:
  • Collaborate with product managers, marketers, and researchers to perform competitive analysis and benchmarking, identifying opportunities and challenges in the local market.
  • Provide strategic insights to inform market entry and expansion strategies in the US.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Serve as the bridge between the product team and local stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and industry organizations.
  • Collect and synthesize feedback from local users to enhance product features and improvements.
Your Skills and Expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of the US energy retail market, with proven expertise in regulations, retail operations, and industry trends.
  • Experience in a product development environment, ideally within a SaaS or technology-focused organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of translating complex industry requirements into actionable product insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
