The Catto Scholarship serves as a vital financial resource designed to support students in their academic journey. The Academic Success Advisor will deliver a comprehensive suite of supportive services, which includes, but is not limited to, ongoing personalized case management; fostering connections to campus academic, emotional, basic needs, and career resources and activities aimed at promoting both academic and personal achievement to ensure student retention and timely graduation for all Catto Scholarship recipients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively deliver tailored and individualized support services to a caseload of over 100 Catto Scholars.
  • Develop personalized success plans (ISP) collaboratively with each Catto Scholarship student within the assigned caseload.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate data related to all students in the assigned caseload to prioritize outreach and inform engagement strategies.
  • Document and gather data on students' progress and participation in required programs to meet benchmarks and maintain scholarship eligibility.
  • Assess students' needs for services and supports, coordinating connections to relevant departments for enrollment, financial aid, academic advising, counseling, transfer opportunities, and basic needs resources.
  • Facilitate and track the distribution of food, book, and transportation stipends for each Catto Scholar within the assigned caseload.
  • Monitor the utilization of stipends for data collection, reporting, and budgeting purposes.
  • Design, coordinate, and lead monthly workshops for Catto Scholars that promote academic success and career readiness.
  • Actively engage in the Catto Scholarship's cross-functional Recruitment, Retention, and Graduation Teams.
  • Participate in Student Assistance Team (SAT) meetings with Catto Scholarship Office staff to review student progress and address barriers to retention and completion.
  • Collaborate with Success Navigators in planning and facilitating recruitment, onboarding, and transition events for Catto Scholarship students.
  • Generate and distribute monthly engagement and status reports for all students in the assigned caseload.
  • Provide transitional support to Catto Scholars who are temporarily out of the program, including continued coaching and identification of alternative financial aid resources.
  • Offer transitional support to Catto Scholar graduates requiring ongoing coaching at four-year institutions.
  • Work with faculty and staff to develop and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing student retention and academic outcomes.
  • Engage in professional development activities relevant to job responsibilities.
  • Maintain a respectful and inclusive approach towards a diverse academic community, encompassing students, faculty, and staff from various backgrounds.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Execute assigned duties in alignment with the mission, goals, and core values of the College.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social services, or a related field is required from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of direct experience in an educational or social service setting, particularly with culturally diverse populations, is required.
  • Experience managing individual caseloads of students or clients with intensive case management is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize data, maintain files, and prepare reports is required.
  • Experience in creating and facilitating engaging workshops and presentations for groups is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds are required.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
  • Experience working remotely to engage students and complete tasks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with integrated management software and social media platforms is preferred.
  • Previous experience in developing and implementing student programming that enhances retention and academic outcomes is preferred.
  • Experience in budget management is preferred.
