About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Security Advocate to join our team at Swissport International AG. As a key member of our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) department, you will play a critical role in driving a culture of safety excellence across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Swissport's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety and regulatory requirements, and Safety Management System and operational requirements through hands-on management and routine inspections.
  • Quality control of the Safety Management Team (SMT) Captured Inbox, ensuring that all submissions are investigated or closed within 24 hours.
  • Perform at least one Line of Business (LOB) audit every quarter using iAuditor.
  • Work in partnership with Human Resources and Operational Management to manage workplace injuries, return to work paperwork, insurance liaison, and injury investigation.
  • Manage the station OSHA300, 300A, and 301 log.
  • Document all external, customer, regulatory, and internal global and regional audits into internal databases as applicable.
  • Perform trend analysis of accidents, injuries, and procedural non-compliance.
  • Conduct and lead a Monthly Safety Meeting with all managers, covering trend analysis and claims review.
  • Establish and chair a monthly station safety committee.
  • Assist the station management team with Customer Audits.
  • Conduct a minimum of 10 Hazard Identifications per week.
  • Conduct multiple weekly inspections across the entire operation.
  • Attend New Hire Orientation classes and conduct an introduction to safety and Just Culture.
  • Lead investigator on any applicable investigation.
  • Attend and lead the monthly Townhall meetings with staff.
  • Attend weekly and monthly meetings with Regional and Cluster QHSE teams.
  • Create interesting and engaging safety and security campaigns.
  • Provide independent information and reports on the status of the station and the safety culture.
  • Report through the chain of command any incidents that are considered or had the potential of a Major or above event.
  • Maintain honesty and integrity always.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in an operational or QHSE role, or some combination of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of TSA Security Regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with a Quality Management System (QMS) preferred.
  • Strong verbal, auditory, and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate, with proficient skills in MS-Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint required, PowerBi preferred.
  • An individual that is comfortable working independently, and as part of a team. Able to troubleshoot, fact find, and influence change.
  • Willingness and ability to frequently travel, up to 10%.
  • Ability to work off hours, including weekends, and be accessible in case of emergencies.
