About the Role

Holland & Knight is seeking a highly skilled Instructional Designer to join our team. As an Instructional Designer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing engaging and effective learning programs for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to design and develop learning solutions that meet business objectives and learner needs.
  • Support the Training Team in creating and delivering training courses, providing guidance on learning objectives and engagement strategies.
  • Transform ideas into engaging and effective learning programs, leveraging your expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Develop short, engaging video courses and product commercials, utilizing your skills in video production and editing.
  • Create storyboards for eLearning courses, including scripts, scenarios, visuals, and interactive elements to enhance the learner experience.
  • Develop written materials, such as topical quick reference guides and user communication, to support learning objectives.
  • Stay current on eLearning and mobile learning trends, ensuring your development skills are up-to-date and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Establish and communicate guidelines and recommendations for instructional design, content development, and delivery methods.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on presentations to improve instructional delivery.
  • Create and maintain virtual and eLearning course templates for use by the Training Team.
  • Ensure all educational materials adhere to design standards and are accessible to all learners.
  • Stay abreast of new instructional design training technologies and products, advising management on potential adoption.
  • Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as an Instructional Designer/Developer in a corporate or consulting environment.
  • Previous experience in a law firm or similar industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong language skills, with the ability to translate complex technology concepts into simple and easy-to-understand content.
  • A creative approach to learning design that engages target audiences in learning.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and/or in a dynamic team setting with stakeholders.
  • Experience developing learning content for mobile devices.
  • Skilled in gathering information and insights through interviewing groups and/or individuals.
  • A self-starter who can work independently to set agendas, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with virtual training tools, such as Adobe Connect, Zoom, and Teams, and features used to engage learners.
  • Expert knowledge of authoring tools, such as Adobe Connect, Captivate, and Camtasia.
  • Knowledge of LMS and SCORM settings.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or an equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience.
  • Certification in eLearning Instructional Design is highly desirable.
