Position Overview

Applied Research Solutions is in search of a dedicated and experienced Senior Acquisition Specialist. This role is pivotal in overseeing the International Operations, Policy and Management, and Partnered Operations portfolios, contributing significantly to the mission of SOF AT&L.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert-level guidance to government partners on acquisition management processes, ensuring compliance with established regulations and policies.
  • Develop comprehensive program documentation, including Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and financial plans.
  • Adapt programmatic support to address urgent needs and evolving requirements without compromising quality.
  • Propose and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of acquisition processes.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including organizational managers and budget personnel, to secure approval for project initiatives.
  • Analyze metrics and requirements from supported organizations to inform decision-making.
  • Provide expert risk assessment and mitigation strategies, including regular updates to leadership on program risk status.
  • Maintain accurate program information and prepare detailed reports and briefings on program status and policies.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and propose improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist in managing program costs, schedules, and performance in line with established policies.
  • Coordinate program information with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Research and identify solutions to eliminate production bottlenecks and enhance program outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Eligibility for Top Secret/SCI or Secret clearance.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly at senior leadership levels.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of business practices relevant to program and technical acquisition.
  • Strategic mindset with a solid understanding of the Defense Acquisition System.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Experience in resolving complex contracting issues and developing actionable solutions.
  • Extensive experience in managing multiple high-risk acquisitions from initiation to closeout.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements for DoD Acquisition Systems.
  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred, with significant experience in Program Management of DoD Acquisition Systems.
