Job Overview

We are in search of a dedicated and knowledgeable Quality Assurance and Compliance Supervisor to manage all facets of quality assurance and regulatory compliance within our fragrance production facility. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in quality management, an acute attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of product quality. This position is vital in ensuring our products comply with FDA regulations and other industry benchmarks while maintaining exceptional quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute quality control protocols and standards for fragrance manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates and industry best practices.
  • Establish and oversee comprehensive compliance initiatives, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards, to guarantee adherence to FDA regulations and industry norms.
  • Supervise the application of stringent quality control measures throughout all production phases, from raw materials to finished goods. Ensure thorough documentation in accordance with GMP and regulatory standards, maintaining comprehensive records of all quality control activities.
  • Develop and uphold quality inspection procedures for raw materials, intermediate products, and final fragrances to detect any discrepancies or defects.
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations of production facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, research and development, and regulatory affairs, to resolve quality issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Act as the primary contact with regulatory bodies, clients, and external auditors. Lead the preparation and execution of FDA and EPA inspections, ensuring full compliance and swift resolution of any concerns.
  • Oversee a team of quality control technicians, providing direction, training, and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards and objectives.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify recurring issues, root causes, and opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements.
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints or quality incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions to avert recurrence and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of quality control activities, including test results, inspection reports, and corrective action records, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on advancements in fragrance manufacturing technology, quality management practices, and regulatory standards to ensure ongoing improvement and innovation.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, clients, and external auditors during inspections and audits, demonstrating compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in the food or cosmetics sector.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance roles within the food, fragrance, or cosmetics industries.
  • Strong understanding of fragrance chemistry, manufacturing processes, and quality control methodologies.
  • Proven leadership abilities with the capacity to effectively manage and inspire a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP, EPA standards, and quality control practices specific to cosmetic or food production.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with a systematic approach to root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and tools, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Quality Management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and motivating a team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
