Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Procurement & Logistics Manager.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will oversee Trade Compliance functions, acting as the primary contact for trade-related issues within the local business in Process Automation Energy Industries in the United States. Your role will ensure the effective execution of operational trade and customs activities. You will assist local business management in aligning all local processes with ABB Trade policies and guidelines, while also providing practical guidance to local staff on trade compliance and strategic trade objectives. The work model for this role is remote. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive procedures and guidelines for local business compliance with export control and customs regulations.
• Establishing and sustaining a general awareness program on export control and customs compliance for local staff, including providing trade-related training.
• Ensuring the accurate classification of all exported and imported products/software/technology according to applicable national export control and customs lists. The primary responsibility for product classifications will rest with Product Classification Engineers.
• Fostering cross-functional collaboration (Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Supplier Quality, etc.) to drive continuous improvement in trade management and compliance.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree; MBA preferred. Customs Brokerage License is a plus, with over 10 years of experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in international trade compliance and procedural frameworks related to operational business processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. export control and customs regulations, along with familiarity with U.S. export control classification systems.
  • Proficient in computer and management systems: GTS/SAP, SharePoint, MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Candidates must possess valid work authorization to be employed by ABB in the U.S.
