Position Summary

In the role of Senior Associate, you will play a pivotal part in delivering innovative solutions to Health & Welfare clients. Your expertise will encompass a broad spectrum of services, including but not limited to plan structuring, compliance oversight, reporting services, pricing strategies, and retiree health care options. You will contribute to Health & Welfare Benefits Consulting initiatives, mentor fellow associates, and foster a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in benefits plan design, funding, and/or administration, with a background in consulting, plan sponsorship, or vendor organizations.
  • A bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven leadership qualities with a self-driven approach and a commitment to achieving results.
  • Exceptional project management abilities.
  • Capacity to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively in a dynamic work setting.
  • Experience in overseeing contractual provisions, ensuring scope control, and guiding projects to completion.
  • Proficient in gathering and preparing data essential for analyzing benefit programs, while assisting senior consultants in program evaluations.
  • Responsible for collecting renewals and aiding in the analysis, negotiation, and finalization of these renewals.
  • Maintain organized documentation for client records (e.g., SPDs, contracts, employee communications).
  • Support the development of pricing strategies, budgets, employee contributions, and premium equivalent rates for self-insured plans.
  • Engage in negotiations regarding rates, contractual terms, and performance guarantees with existing benefit vendors.
  • Conduct market analysis, including RFP development, proposal collection, and vendor assessments.
  • Assist in vendor selection processes, establishing performance criteria, and managing both new and existing vendors during implementation.
  • Utilize knowledge of major health plans, administrators, and other market vendors to provide consulting insights to clients and prospects.
  • Maintain comprehensive project plans and status logs, documenting completion timelines and resolutions for issues.
  • Notify lead consultants when project timelines and scopes deviate from initial expectations.
  • Create letters, presentations, proposals, charts, and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Actively participate as a collaborative team member in projects involving other associates across the practice, group, and region.
  • Mentor junior associates whenever possible.
  • Share information openly and proactively, ensuring all relevant details are documented in client files.

The base salary range for this position is $76,000-$144,000 per year. Placement within this range will depend on job responsibilities, geographic location, relevant experience, and other factors.
