Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team at Community Residences. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement individualized plans to promote independence, socialization, and personal growth.
  2. Provide direct care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and behavioral interventions.
  3. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and support.
  4. Monitor and report changes in client behavior, medical conditions, or other relevant information.
  5. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  6. Assist with household management, meal preparation, and maintenance of a safe and healthy environment.
  7. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and community members.
  8. Ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in human services, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Valid CT driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Ability to lift and transfer 70-75 pounds and perform active work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Schedule

Wednesday and Thursday: 11pm-9am

Friday and Saturday: 11pm-7am
