Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team at Community Residences. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our clients, promoting their independence, and helping them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain a positive learning environment, utilizing approved protective hold techniques to ensure the safety of clients, staff, and others.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, working closely with the interdisciplinary team to address clients' unique needs and goals.
  • Monitor and report any medical, physical, or behavioral changes in clients, maintaining accurate documentation and communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Administer medication to clients as prescribed, adhering to Medication Administration Policy and documenting administration according to policy.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, laundry, and household maintenance, while maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
  • Supervise family visitation and participate in community-based outings and recreational activities, promoting socialization and skill-building opportunities for clients.
  • Participate in mandatory training and in-services, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Valid CT driver's license and good driving record.
  • Associate's Degree preferred, with at least one year of experience in the Human Services field.
  • Physical Management Training (PMT), First Aid, CPR, and Medication Certification required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and community partners.
