Position Overview

Role Purpose:

As a Behavior Technician, you will work under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized treatment strategies aimed at improving social, communication, and adaptive skills. Your contributions will be vital in fostering a supportive environment for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 ABA therapy to clients.
  • Adhere to the established Treatment and Behavior Support Plan.
  • Comply with all organizational, state, and insurance regulations.
  • Implement individualized ABA strategies in a structured environment as directed by the BCBA.
  • Accurately document client behavior and progress during sessions.
  • Utilize positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques to promote desired behaviors.
  • Assist in the development of new programs to address challenging behaviors.
  • Maintain a safe and organized environment for clients during therapy sessions.
  • Provide regular updates to the supervising BCBA regarding client progress.
  • Engage in team meetings, training, and supervision as required.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards.
  • Document therapy sessions using the designated software.
  • Ensure compliance with training requirements.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with colleagues, supervisors, and families.
  • Protect client rights and safety by following privacy regulations.
  • Respond to emergencies and behavioral situations as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field or related area, with one year of experience working with children with ASD; or an associate's degree with two years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of 18 hours of continuing education in ASD services within the last three years.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated compassion and patience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet navigation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical endurance to implement necessary holds.
  • Capability to provide personal care, including lifting and transferring individuals.
