Behavioral Support Specialist

Role PurposeThe primary responsibility of the Behavioral Support Specialist is to implement Applied Behavior Analysis techniques to assist individuals with significant behavioral challenges. This role involves creating safe and engaging learning environments while collecting and analyzing data related to each individual's progress.

- Deliver Applied Behavior Analysis therapy to individuals with complex behavioral needs.
- Adhere to the established Treatment and Behavior Support Plans.
- Comply with all organizational, state, and insurance regulations.
- Collect and document behavioral and skill acquisition data.
- Maintain accurate session notes using designated software.
- Ensure completion of all required training courses.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, supervisors, families, and other team members.
- Assist in preparing client materials as directed by the BCBA.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Protect the rights and safety of individuals by following privacy regulations and reporting any concerns.
- Respond to emergencies and behavioral incidents as necessary.
- Foster a comfortable and safe program space.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating good judgment and initiative.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet navigation.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with significant behavioral needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physical endurance to perform holds as required.
- Capability to lift and transfer individuals as needed.
- Ability to provide personal care, including toileting, bathing, and feeding.
