WELDING PROCESS ENGINEER ROLE
We are seeking a proficient Welding Process Engineer to become a vital part of our team at SpaceX. In this capacity, you will be tasked with the development, enhancement, and validation of welding methodologies for our advanced launch systems and spacecraft. You will collaborate closely with a diverse group of engineers to refine welding techniques and processes, ensuring superior quality and operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, refine, and validate welding processes across various techniques
- Assist in production activities related to welded components
- Work in partnership with engineering teams to optimize designs for manufacturability
- Establish welding qualification testing protocols and analyze results
- Introduce process control and automation strategies for welding operations
- Investigate innovative welding technologies to boost productivity
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field
- Practical experience with welded components
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree in welding engineering or a related discipline
- Familiarity with a variety of welding methods and materials
- Experience in robotic programming and tooling design
- Understanding of weld strength testing techniques
- Self-driven with a keen eye for detail
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Position located in a dynamic work environment with potential travel opportunities
- Willingness to adapt to flexible working hours
- Physical capability to fulfill job responsibilities
- Strong multitasking abilities and effective communication skills
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary range:
Welding Process Engineer/Level I: $95,000 - $115,000 annually
Welding Process Engineer/Level II: $110,000 - $130,000 annually
