As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Propulsion Systems, you will leverage your expertise and innovative thinking to create advanced solutions in the realm of aerospace technology.
Your role will involve working on launch vehicles and spacecraft designed to transport satellites into orbit, facilitate human travel to the International Space Station, and ultimately expand humanity's presence beyond Earth.
You will be responsible for fostering collaboration between our development and production teams, ensuring a seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of manufacturing engineers in the production of propulsion components for advanced space vehicles.
- Oversee the assembly and testing of propulsion and thermal control system components.
- Create and manage detailed build schedules, ensuring timely fabrication and assembly of all components.
- Address and analyze manufacturing discrepancies, collaborating with the quality assurance team to resolve design and fabrication issues.
- Support component-level testing, including proof and leak tests, fluid flow assessments, and functional evaluations.
- Collaborate closely with design engineers, internal fabrication teams, and external suppliers to ensure manufacturability of parts.
- Set performance goals for team members, driving operational excellence.
- Mentor and support the professional growth of your team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, welding, or materials engineering.
- 3+ years of experience with fluid system components and instruments.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical, welding, or materials engineering.
- 2 years of experience leading a team of engineers.
- Experience with spacecraft or aircraft propulsion systems.
- Knowledge of fluid or gas handling systems.
- Familiarity with principles of flow dynamics, thermodynamics, and electrical circuits.
- Experience with data acquisition and instrumentation.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
