  • Conduct root cause analysis in collaboration with design, manufacturing, and materials engineering teams.
  • Work closely with design, tooling, automation, and development engineers to enhance welded designs for manufacturability.
  • Establish welding qualification test campaigns and analyze mechanical testing and non-destructive evaluation (NDE) results.
  • Collaborate with NDE personnel to assess weld quality on development and flight hardware while innovating advanced NDE techniques.
  • Implement improved process control using feedback from testing and NDE results.
  • Design automated welding solutions to enhance process consistency.
  • Research new welding technologies to boost efficiency, quality, and production rates.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Practical experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or testing of welded assemblies.

  • Familiarity with brazing, joining techniques, and metallographic analysis.
  • Solid understanding of welding processes such as electron beam, laser beam, and gas metal arc welding.
  • Experience in programming robots for automated welding applications.
  • Knowledge in tooling design for welded assemblies to minimize distortion and enhance consistency.
  • Understanding of weld strength testing methodologies and standards.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions, including optical and SEM fractography.
  • Self-driven engineer with a strong attention to detail.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position will support on-site manufacturing and development efforts.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to meet production schedules.
  • Travel may be required to other facilities.
