Position Title: Temporary Program Assistant for EMFS & Agricultural Education

Overview: This role is designed to assist in the EmPOWERing Mountain Food Systems initiative and related educational programs. The successful candidate will report directly to the project director and will be instrumental in managing administrative tasks associated with the grant and internship programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of organization and develop project timelines.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Handle federal grant administration and related duties.
  • Oversee detailed spreadsheets and databases for tracking expenditures, federal documentation, vendors, and payment processes.
  • Assist the evaluation team with data collection and financial metrics.
  • Support the project director in grant management tasks in collaboration with the grants office.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating events and logistics.
  • Manage and reconcile financial transactions and paperwork.
  • Provide technical support for virtual meetings and webinars.
  • Process financial documents, including invoice payments.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and paperwork for events and conferences.
  • Ensure timely processing of necessary documentation.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and collaborate with the administrative team for support.

Work Schedule: This position requires approximately 30-40 hours per week, with potential for evening, early morning, and weekend hours during peak periods. Some travel may be necessary for events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in project management, communications, or related fields.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and database management skills.
  • Genuine interest in sustainable agriculture and local food systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Reliability and teamwork in a dynamic environment.
