Key Responsibilities

Drees Homes is currently looking for candidates for the role of Production Assistant - Permitting within our Raleigh Division.

In this role, you will undertake various administrative duties to ensure the seamless flow of accurate information in support of the permitting and construction initiation processes.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Streamlining the permitting process by collecting necessary data and serving as the intermediary between the organization and various municipal and engineering offices.
  • Providing comprehensive start packages to builders.
  • Ensuring the precise and efficient handling of documentation and information to facilitate timely construction starts.
  • Updating information in various software applications.
  • Maintaining files related to the permitting process.
  • Preparing and distributing various reports, including a weekly status report.
  • Collaborating closely with the Architecture Department to rectify any plan discrepancies and ensure completeness of plan sets.

Qualifications include:

  • A high school diploma is required; a college degree is advantageous.
  • Prior administrative experience is essential.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Experience in the homebuilding sector is preferred.
  • Familiarity with architectural plans and/or the permitting process is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.
  • Professional communication skills and the capability to engage with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Competence in utilizing various municipal portals for permitting.
