Executive Director of Equity and Inclusion

The National Forum for Black Public Administrators is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Executive Director of Equity and Inclusion.

This is a unique opportunity to lead and facilitate an organizational culture that promotes equity, inclusion, and social justice.

About the Role
  • Lead and facilitate an organizational culture that institutionalizes the use of an equity lens to address structural barriers and promote equitable service delivery.
  • Enhance community harmony and promote awareness of the organization's commitment to diversity and inclusion by recognizing and valuing the cultural differences in our community.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and provide direct staff supervision, including conducting performance evaluations, coordinating training, and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.
  • Direct the implementation of operations and programs of assigned department, providing strategic planning, coordination, administration, and evaluation.
  • Provide oversight and operational direction to achieve departmental goals and objectives, developing and overseeing the implementation of policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Serve as an organizational and departmental representative, advising, consulting with, and facilitating complex discussions with senior management, officials, boards, commissions, and other organizations.
  • Develop short and long-term goals, objectives, and strategic plans, overseeing and/or negotiating contracts, and providing communications and updates on department activities.
  • Develop, administer, and oversee department operating budget, reviewing financial statements, monitoring and approving expenditures, and ensuring compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in public administration or field directly related to assignment.
  • Ten years of progressively responsible related experience, including significant management and supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in public administration or field directly related to assignment.
