BioLife Plasma Services operates as a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountable for overseeing the operations of the plasma donation center, including financial management, marketing strategies, administrative tasks, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, personnel management, and facility oversight. Directs daily operations and staff activities across various departments to enhance operational effectiveness.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Staff Development (60%):
  • Facilitate and communicate with staff effectively, both locally and within the network.
  • Ensure all personnel receive proper, timely, and accurate training in relevant technical areas.
  • Provide constructive feedback to both hourly and salaried staff members.
  • Foster employee growth through regular meetings, goal assessments, and development plans.
  • Manage the annual review process and adjustments to compensation.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including phone interviews, in-person interviews, job offers, and onboarding.
  • May support and conduct training for management.
  • Lead initiatives to ensure donor retention, exceptional customer service, production oversight, and cost management.
  • Operational Oversight (40%):
  • Supervise facility operations:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations regarding product quality, employee, and donor safety.
  • Manage audit processes for the facility and address any issues that arise:
    • Collaborate with the Regional Manager and management team to prepare for and accommodate internal and external audits.
    • Ensure timely responses and resolutions to audit findings.
  • Analyze operational data to promote efficiency:
    • Forecast and achieve production and cost objectives while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Address facility-related issues and manage inquiries regarding facility information.
  • May assist with production challenges at the center.

Technical/Functional Expertise

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a medical or regulated environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and technical abilities.

  • Availability for weekend and extended work hours.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR and AED certification.

  • Reports to Group Manager and/or Regional Operations Lead.

Innovation and Improvement

  • May participate in managing projects and new initiatives within the center or across multiple centers.
  • Supports the management team in identifying operational improvements and initiating changes to processes as necessary, utilizing approved methodologies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires the ability to stand and walk for the duration of the work shift.
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
  • Must possess verbal communication skills to interact with donors, both in person and over the phone.
  • Requires fine motor skills, depth perception, and the ability to hear equipment sounds from a distance.
  • May involve occasional travel (less than 10%).

EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES:

Essential: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree is highly desirable.
