Reports to: Route Supervisor
Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role involves the collection, transportation, and delivery of waste management routes. This includes retrieving containers from various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a roll-off truck efficiently.
- Conduct DOT pre-and post-trip inspections, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, and controls.
- Adhere to DOT and company regulations while operating vehicles.
- Communicate route status effectively with the Route Supervisor and Customer Service Team.
- Monitor gauges and indicators during operation.
- Complete assigned route pick-ups as scheduled.
- Oversee the route loader.
- Connect and disconnect airline controls as necessary.
- Discharge truck contents at designated disposal sites.
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck and trailer.
- Exhibit safe equipment operation in various weather conditions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of recycling materials and classifications.
- Understand commingled collection processes and acceptable materials.
- Follow proper loading, transportation, and shipping procedures for materials.
- Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting and bending.
- Be flexible with work schedules as required.
- Comply with all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Adhere to safety guidelines set forth by the company.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid CDL Class A with Air Brake Endorsements
• Minimum of one (1) year of CDL driving experience or 150,000 verifiable miles
• Clean driving record required
• Must meet DOT medical standards, including passing a physical exam and drug test
• Ability to perform essential job functions, including physical tasks
• Must comply with DOT regulations as per 49 CFR
• Meet PRATT Driver MVR Qualification Standards and pass background checks
• Experience operating in all seasons
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
• Proficient in reading and interpreting laws, regulations, and policies
• Capable of maintaining driver logs
• Identify and maintain equipment maintenance needs
• Strong skills in multitasking, communication, problem-solving, and time management
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures
• Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
• Must pass annual DOT CDL medical certifications
• High level of safety awareness and discipline
• Maintain a courteous attitude towards colleagues and the public
• Willingness to travel and work away from home if necessary
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed
• Adhere strictly to safety requirements and company policies
• Team-oriented with a willingness to assist others
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Must be adaptable to business needs to meet customer demands
• Successful completion of drug screening and background checks is mandatory
