Business Development Manager

This role is responsible for driving revenue growth and managing current and prospective relationships to ensure success with medical products. The ideal candidate will lead sales initiatives and strategies within their assigned territory, achieving sales and profitability objectives by effectively managing new and existing accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure annual account renewals and aggressively pursue growth within groups by developing and implementing account-specific benefit and financial strategies.
- Manage and develop a set of assigned accounts to increase productivity and sales of products, as well as identify potential customers and set approach strategies.
- Develop strong and long-term client relationships.
- Takes ownership of territory team initiatives and ensures deadlines are met.
- Resolves issues and handles client complaints quickly and effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field OR 4 years of relevant work experience in addition to the required work experience.
- Current health and life license for the jurisdictions of Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
- 8 years sales/healthcare experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar sales position with a competitor or another Blue Cross Blue Shield plan.
Salary Range: $89,600 - $145,600
Travel Requirements: Estimated 80%
