Position Overview

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the field of water resources?

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Mid-Level Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to contribute to our projects focused on advanced urban stormwater management and natural water systems. This role will engage in various complex initiatives, including sustainable green infrastructure studies, urban stormwater infrastructure design, flood mitigation strategies, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stream restoration, and monitoring/modeling of surface water and watersheds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in projects related to municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) compliance, watershed planning, and stormwater best management practices.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic calculations.
  • Design effective stormwater management solutions.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Compile local, state, and federal permit applications regarding surface water and land use regulations.
  • Draft proposals for new project opportunities.
  • Provide support for litigation, particularly concerning Clean Water Act compliance.
  • Manage and deliver multiple concurrent project assignments, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Engage in business development and staff mentoring as part of our operational model.
  • Enhance our industry reputation through publications and participation in prominent conferences.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, natural resources, or a related field with a focus on water resources. (required)
  • Advanced degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • Professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G., CPESC, CPSWG) is preferred.
Experience and Skills
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Familiarity with modeling and design software such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic consulting environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. (required)
  • Strong writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Willingness to engage in fieldwork and travel as necessary. (required)
  • Compliance with health and safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven testing may be necessary.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and a clean driving record for business travel. (required)
