Position Overview:

Are you ready to contribute to meaningful projects that positively impact our environment? Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Mid-Level Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to join our team. This role is integral to our efforts in addressing complex challenges related to urban stormwater management and natural water systems.

Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:

  • Engage in projects focused on municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) compliance and watershed management.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
  • Design and implement stormwater best management practices.
  • Draft comprehensive technical reports.
  • Prepare and submit local, state, and federal permits related to surface water and land use.
  • Develop proposals for new projects.
  • Provide support for litigation, particularly concerning Clean Water Act compliance.
  • Manage multiple project assignments, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to business development and staff mentoring initiatives.
  • Enhance our industry presence through publications and participation in conferences.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, natural resources, or a related field with a focus on water resources (required).
  • An advanced degree in a related discipline (preferred).
  • Professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G., CPESC, CPSWG) (preferred).

Experience and Skills:
We are looking for candidates with:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with modeling and design software such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS (preferred).
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic consulting environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork and travel as required.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and a clean driving record for business travel.
