Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Mid-Level Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on intricate projects that address urban stormwater management and natural water systems. Responsibilities will include innovative planning studies for sustainable green infrastructure, designing urban stormwater systems, implementing flood mitigation strategies, and conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including dam breach evaluations and floodplain mapping. Additionally, you will engage in stream restoration, monitor surface water and watershed conditions, and provide support for NPDES permitting and Clean Water Act compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contributing to projects focused on municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) compliance, watershed management, and stormwater best management practices;
  • Executing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations;
  • Designing effective stormwater management solutions;
  • Drafting detailed technical reports;
  • Preparing and submitting local, state, and federal permits related to surface water and land use;
  • Developing proposals for new project opportunities;
  • Providing support for litigation related to Clean Water Act compliance;
  • Managing multiple concurrent project assignments with a focus on scoping, execution, and delivery;
  • Engaging in business development and mentoring initiatives;
  • Enhancing our industry reputation through publications and participation in key conferences.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, natural resources, or a related field with a focus on water resources (required);
  • Advanced degree in a related discipline (preferred);
  • Professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G., CPESC, CPSWG) (preferred).
Experience and Skills
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience (required);
  • Familiarity with modeling and design software such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS (preferred);
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines (required);
  • Strong writing and communication skills (required);
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork and travel as necessary (required);
  • Compliance with health and safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven testing may be necessary;
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and a clean driving record for business travel (required).
