Principal Geotechnical Consultant

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a key member of our geoenvironmental and geotechnical practice, you will play a critical role in supporting our operations in the Boston area from our Acton, MA office, with a hybrid or remote work schedule available.
Key Responsibilities- Lead geotechnical engineering analyses, including slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic stability, and seepage.
- Develop and manage instrumentation monitoring systems.
- Manage project/task management and proposal preparation support.
- Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications.
- Conduct fieldwork associated with design and construction services.
- Manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule expectations, ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
- Oversee the overall delivery of projects, including project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management.
- Steward and build client relationships to secure repeat business.
- Develop business opportunities with new and existing clients and prepare associated proposals.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field.
- Advanced degree in the same field (preferred).
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E.).
- At least 10 years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software (e.g., slope stability).
- Knowledge of numerical modeling tools.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred).
- Valid U.S. drivers license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
