As a Continuous Improvement Specialist II, you will act as the Continuous Improvement (CI) liaison for frontline caregivers and leadership, coordinating all aspects of small projects or phases of larger initiatives.

In this position, you will assist in organizing project team activities directed by an experienced CI Specialist and/or CI Program Director. You will employ essential process enhancement tools and methodologies to advance projects. Additionally, you will implement the Cleveland Clinic Improvement Model (CCIM), enhancing the capabilities of caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

Enhance knowledge of the CCIM while applying it to operational teams. This knowledge growth should encompass but not be limited to increasing teams' understanding of organizational alignment, visual management, problem-solving, and standardization.

Lead small to medium-sized projects utilizing intermediate Continuous Improvement and project management tools.

Teach, coach, and mentor frontline caregivers and leadership on continuous improvement best practices.

Build capability in analyzing and measuring the effectiveness of existing processes to develop sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable process improvements in medium to large areas with minimal oversight from Senior CIs and above.

Drive medium to large improvement activities toward measurable results.

Research best practices within and outside the organization and apply insights to the assigned area.

Regularly participate in the collection and analysis of process data to initiate, develop, and recommend practices and procedures that enhance safety, increase productivity, and reduce costs.

Establish effective working relationships with primary work groups to fulfill job deliverables.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred

Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean certification preferred.

Complexity of Work: Demonstrate knowledge of quality tools, lean foundation elements, and change management.

Lead data analysis sessions and discuss the drive/watch metric dashboard independently. Capable of building graphs and charts from raw data and interpreting them meaningfully.

Comfortably leverage influencing and change management in the context of assignments with minimal dependence on another CI caregiver.

Effectively communicate (written/verbal/presentation/listening) within the context of work assignments to achieve successful outcomes.

Independently lead Kaizen implementation for multiple teams with clearly measured results.

Understand core Lean concepts and utilize them to achieve significant results using tools such as process mapping, visual management, standard work, demand analysis, basic statistics, observation methods, VSM, material pull, project management, control plans, FMEA, productivity management, kaizen, flow diagrams, spaghetti diagrams, fishbone diagrams, cause & effect, brainstorming, 5 Whys, root cause corrective action, and the Pareto principle.


Work Experience:

Minimum four years of business or healthcare experience.

Minimum two years of process improvement or project management experience, with an expectation of delivering CI tools within 12 months.

Healthcare experience preferred.

Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate at all organizational levels with guidance from a senior team member or above.

Demonstrated ability to teach/coach managers and caregivers regarding continuous improvement principles and practices with assistance from a senior team member or above.

Experience coaching and training leadership and frontline caregivers on the execution of the Kaizen process.

Pay Range:

Minimum hourly: $36.80

Maximum hourly: $56.13

The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as work history, experience, skill set, and education. This does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package, which includes healthcare, dental, vision, and retirement options.
