Job Overview

91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Instructor - Develop and oversee a comprehensive training program to ensure all proficiency standards are met as outlined in the Performance Work Statement. Deliver academic instruction, regularly review and update educational and doctrinal materials, and maintain the vehicles and equipment relevant to the training provided.

As an instructor, you will conduct classroom and laboratory sessions, facilitating discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises in alignment with the course content, Program of Instruction (POI), technical manuals, and student workbooks. You will also perform student evaluations following the United States Army (USA) ODS Standard Operating Procedures.

In addition to scheduled classes, your responsibilities will include:

  • Making necessary updates to lesson plans and participating in cross-training opportunities.
  • Preparing instructional materials and assessments, and submitting revisions to lesson plans for government review.
  • Assisting as a secondary instructor in various classes and providing constructive feedback at the conclusion of instructional blocks.
  • Updating technical content of lesson materials as per the Performance Work Statement.
  • Contributing as a subject matter expert in the revision of POIs, Lesson Plans, and Training Support Packages (TSPs).
  • Providing remedial training and maintaining the classroom environment by organizing furnishings and training aids.
  • Ensuring training materials and equipment are adequately stocked and assisting with the upkeep of outdoor training facilities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC) or its equivalent within the last five years, with recertification every five years.
  • TRADOC Initial Military Training (IMT) Installation Staff and Contractors Course (ISCC) with refresher training every three years.
  • Blackboard 101 Instructor Training, with refresher training every three years.
  • A minimum of three years of technical experience in track vehicle repair, validated by certification in MOS's: 63B/91B/915.
  • National Accreditation or previous employer certifications related to the technical tasks of the course.
  • Current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 609 - Clean Air Act 1990 (Auto A/C) Certification.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in automotive applications, including repairs on track vehicles, hydraulics, diesel engines, drive trains, brakes, and turret functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, planning, coordination, and time management abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pass all hands-on and written assessments in accordance with ODS Instructional Management SOP.
  • Meet the training, technical, and tactical certification requirements of the course content.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in teaching, developing, or reviewing course materials, training aids, and manuals for vocational or military training.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical skills, including roots, powers, and metric notation.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving moderate lifting (up to 100 lbs.), prolonged standing, sitting, or walking, and working in varying weather conditions.
