Job Overview

91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Instructor - Develop and oversee a comprehensive training curriculum while ensuring adherence to proficiency standards outlined in the Performance Work Statement. Deliver educational instruction; regularly review and enhance academic and doctrinal materials; and maintain the vehicles and equipment relevant to the training provided.

Conduct classroom and laboratory sessions, facilitating discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises in alignment with course content, Program of Instruction (POI), technical manuals, and student workbooks. Implement student evaluations in accordance with established United States Army (USA) Operational Procedures. During intervals between scheduled courses, the following responsibilities will be undertaken: making necessary updates to lesson plans, participating in cross-training sessions, preparing instructional materials, and reviewing proposed changes to lesson plans for government consideration. Serve as an Assistant Instructor in various classes and provide constructive feedback at the conclusion of each instructional block.

Assist in the enhancement of technical content within lesson materials as per the Performance Work Statement. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in the revision of POIs, Lesson Plans, and Training Support Packages (TSPs). Facilitate remediation training, maintain classroom environments by organizing and setting up furnishings, managing training aids and equipment, stocking necessary materials, and supporting outdoor training site upkeep.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC) or its equivalent within the last five years, with recertification every five years
  • TRADOC Initial Military Training (IMT) Installation Staff and Contractors Course (ISCC) with refresher training every three years
  • Blackboard 101 Instructor Training, with refresher training every three years
  • A minimum of three years of experience in track vehicle repair, with certification in MOS's: 63B/91B/915
  • National Accreditation or previous employer certifications relevant to the technical tasks of the course
  • Current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 609 - Clean Air Act 1990 (Auto A/C) Certification
  • Proficient knowledge and hands-on skills in various automotive applications, including repairs on track vehicles, hydraulics, diesel engines, drive trains, brakes, and turret functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, planning, coordination, and time management abilities
  • Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to pass all hands-on and written student assessments in accordance with the ODS Instructional Management SOP
  • Meet training, technical, and tactical certification requirements for course content
  • A minimum of three years of experience in teaching, developing, or reviewing course materials, training aids, and manuals for vocational or military training
  • Proficient in basic mathematical skills, including roots, powers, and metric notation
  • Ability to perform tasks involving moderate lifting (up to 100 lbs.), standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions.
