Job Summary

The Duke Health and Fitness Center is seeking a highly qualified professional to provide clinical support and exercise services to our members. As an Exercise Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our members during exercise sessions and providing vital support to our group fitness classes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safety support for members during exercise sessions
  • Triage symptoms and vital signs for members pre-, during-, and post-exercise sessions
  • Support group fitness classes on land and in pool
  • Work weekend shifts as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field
  • Level I: No previous experience required
  • Level II: Minimum 1-year applicable experience
  • Level III: Minimum 2 years applicable experience
  • Level I: BLS certification
  • Level II: BLS; ACSM certification preferred
  • Level III: BLS (ACLS preferred), ACSM preferred
