Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing geotechnical engineering designs, sketches, plans, specifications, and estimates for flood walls, levees, bank protection, and pumping stations projects.
  • Performing complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Providing geotechnical engineering and pavement design services for TxDOT facilities.
  • Conducting slope stability, seepage analysis, and other geotechnical engineering studies.
  • Making decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed.
  • Functioning as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position.
  • Supervising a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
  • Performing other duties as needed.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, MicroStation, or other software as appropriate.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of geotechnical experience.
