We are currently seeking a skilled Project Manager to enhance our team in the greater region. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading the Geotechnical Engineering department, focusing on project management and business development within the area.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and direct field-logging activities during drilling operations as necessary.
- Coordinate drilling tasks with subcontractors and internal field personnel.
- Supervise the classification of soil samples in the laboratory.
- Manage laboratory testing assignments in accordance with established testing protocols.
- Analyze field data and laboratory results to complete engineering reports.
- Coordinate the preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and ensure their quality.
- Collaborate with other divisions or consultants as needed for project support.
- Support field operations during construction as required.
- Ensure product quality and adherence to contractual agreements and company protocols.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for staff.
- Participate in health and safety programs and set a positive safety example.
- Maintain communication with clients regarding project schedules and milestones.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and Statements of Qualifications, and engage in business development activities.
- Actively participate in relevant technical and professional organizations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Construction/Geotechnical Engineering, or
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with at least 5 years of relevant Geotechnical Engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer's license for the State of Texas or the ability to obtain one within 6 months if licensed in another state.
- Possess a valid state-issued driver's license and meet the company's auto insurability requirements.
Experience with expansive soils, foundation analysis, and local geology is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
This position may involve physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment may include exposure to construction sites and hazardous materials, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
