Position Summary:

The Geotechnical Project Manager at HVJ Associates, a prominent engineering firm in Texas, is dedicated to ensuring client satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality reports that meet specific project requirements within established timelines, budgets, and design parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project management to align with HVJ's financial objectives and quality benchmarks. Responsible for signing and sealing technical documentation.
  • Anticipate project initiation, scheduling, and profitability.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to meet or surpass project objectives.
  • Draft proposals with comprehensive cost assessments.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Facilitate team cohesion and collaboration.
  • Support business development initiatives.
  • Monitor project expenditures to guarantee that actual work remains within budgetary constraints.
  • Issue invoices promptly to secure payment for services rendered.
  • Review all documentation prior to client submission for thoroughness and precision.
  • Conduct geotechnical and construction materials engineering as necessary to fulfill client requirements.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities to expand geotechnical engineering services.
  • Perform and evaluate geotechnical engineering analyses.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer license in Texas is mandatory.
  • Experience with TxDOT, municipal projects, and familiarity with Central and South-Central Texas geology and soil conditions is advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to tackle complex challenges effectively.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to adhere to schedules and assignments.
  • Ability to collaborate with support staff, management, and clients, demonstrating strong teamwork skills.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record and appropriate work authorization.
  • Familiarity with common geotechnical software applications.
