Responsibilities:
- Provide geotechnical engineering expertise across various project types, including transportation, infrastructure, commercial developments, and environmental projects.
- Conduct independent evaluations using established geotechnical engineering methodologies, applying engineering judgment for minor adjustments as necessary.
- Interpret and make recommendations based on laboratory and field test results, as well as project-specific conditions.
- Prepare and review comprehensive geotechnical reports in accordance with project specifications.
- Delegate tasks to team members as required.
- Collaborate with local and remote teams to fulfill project requirements and foster employee development.
- Develop scopes, budgets, and timelines for assigned tasks.
- Consult with project Principal Consultant and/or Chief Engineer regarding recommendations.
- Cultivate and maintain client relationships while identifying new project opportunities.
- Participate in client meetings and effectively communicate with project teams.
- Mentor and train junior technical staff.
- Conduct on-site observations and inspections as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, along with a Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Texas engineering license required or the ability to obtain licensure in the state of employment and surrounding states.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software such as GeoStudio, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, Plaxis, Midas, SLIDE, Settle3D, and MSEW.
- Must achieve Principal Consultant status internally (5 years of experience for CS/8 years for Geo).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams across various locations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as necessary.
