Job Summary:

The Senior Training Specialist position at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington plays a vital role in providing case management services to adults with mental illness. Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary treatment team, this position utilizes a Strengths Based Recovery Model to deliver high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative supervision of 1 FTE and functional supervision of interns and volunteers.
  • Deliver community support services to identified adults with mental illness, establishing productive relationships to promote achievement of Individual Recovery Plan (IRP) goals.
  • Develop and utilize Individual Crisis Plan strategies to assist consumers in stressed-induced situations to avoid hospitalizations.
  • Assist consumers in developing interpersonal and coping skills, including adapting to home, school, and work environments.
  • Provide mental health education, support, and consultation to consumers and their support systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2 years of direct service experience in a social service setting with adults who have mental illness.
  • Ability to communicate in English, in written and oral form.
  • Ability to manage time and work independently.
