Dining Services Manager Assistant

The Host/Hostess is a key team member responsible for assisting the Manager with the overall operation, coordination, appearance and maintenance of the dining area and waitress station. The ideal candidate will ensure that courteous and efficient services are delivered to residents, guests and staff.

Duties:
1. Arrange seating accommodations and greet residents, guests, and staff while maintaining a friendly environment.
2. Supervise the physical appearance of the dining room area and waitress stations, including table pedestals, chairs, rugs, drapes, flooring tiles, light fixtures, etc.
3. Supervise the appearance of dining room tables, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table setup, menu covers, centerpieces, etc.
4. Schedule work assignments for all dining room personnel, assigning specific jobs and spot checking to ensure standards are met.
5. Maintain pertinent and appropriate resident and staff attendance records, reservations, incident reports, schedules, special functions, and assist in performing computerized resident billing transactions as needed.
6. Advise the Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status.
7. Assist with planning, scheduling, supervising, and counseling dining room personnel.
8. Assist bus and wait staff on the floor when needed and receive feedback from residents on their satisfaction.
9. Clean tables, floors, vacuum, etc., and execute other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably courses in hospitality management or dining room operations. Additionally, some experience in front-of-house operations within a restaurant, hotel, club, or similar institution is preferred. You must be able to communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
