Position:

Information System Security Engineer - TS/SCI

KBR is in search of a skilled Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to provide essential support in the realm of Cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver analytical and technical security insights to the client.
  • Lead the determination of security requirements for various projects.
  • Engage in network design assessments and security evaluations for the client's infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with system development teams to ensure adherence to network security protocols.
  • Identify supplementary security needs based on Risk Management Framework (RMF) or arising from security vulnerabilities that threaten the client's systems.
  • Examine and assess new hardware and software systems, providing security recommendations.
  • Review Security Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs), System Security Plans (SSPs), and other Information Assurance documentation for thoroughness.
  • Offer Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and RMF guidance to system owners to facilitate successful accreditation.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced Information Assurance certification.
  • DoD 8570 certification in Information Assurance Technician (IAT) or Information Assurance Manager (IAM).
  • Experience in security systems engineering across various computing hardware and software operating systems and application solutions in both standalone and LAN/WAN environments.
  • Knowledge of security features and vulnerabilities of different operating systems as outlined by NIST, DISA (STIGs), and USCYBERCOM.
  • Experience in network and systems security administration, operating system security configuration, and account management best practices.
  • Proficient in implementing the RMF Process and NIST technical controls, as well as developing and maintaining related certification and accreditation documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience presenting to senior client personnel.
  • Familiarity with the client's Lifecycle Readiness process.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with Information Assurance vulnerability testing and associated network and system testing tools (e.g., Retina, HBSS, EVSS, ACAS).
  • Familiarity with Splunk and ServiceNow.
  • Understanding of Cross Domain Systems (CDS).
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) in the Cybersecurity sector.

Clearance Requirement: An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is necessary for consideration for this role.
